A Cute DIY Winter Scene for Your Home

One of my favorite things about this kit is that it isn’t just a snowman! It’s a whole little winter scene with lots of individual pieces that work together to create an adorable display.

The finished project features a cheerful snowman wearing a black top hat and red scarf, two little penguins, evergreen trees, a rustic wooden fence, a sled filled with presents, and a bare winter tree.

On the other side, there’s a wooden post with a lantern and a hanging “Let It Snow” sign.

I love the combination of the rustic brown wood, soft green trees, snowy white accents, and pops of bright red. It gives the whole project a cozy winter look that would be so cute sitting on a shelf, mantel, or entryway table.

And because this is a winter-themed craft, you can leave it out long after Christmas decorations are packed away!

Painting Our Let It Snow Winter Scene DIY Kit

There are so many little details that make this winter scene special!

A Snowman With a Bright Red Scarf

The snowman is definitely one of the stars of this project!

I love the contrast between his white body, black top hat, and bright red scarf. His little orange carrot nose and smiling face give him so much personality.

And of course, he needs his broom to complete the look!

Two Adorable Little Penguins

How cute are these two penguins?

Their black and white bodies, little orange beaks, and orange feet add so much character to the scene.

I especially love how they’re different sizes. They look so sweet standing together beside the snowman!

Rustic Trees and Winter Details

The evergreen trees add a soft pop of green without taking away from the snowman and penguins.

The bare winter tree, wooden fence, and rustic post help create that cozy outdoor winter feeling.

And I love the distressed white finish on the lantern and hanging sign. It gives the project a little rustic farmhouse charm.

A Little Sled Full of Presents

We can’t forget the sled!

With its dark runners, wooden seat, and colorful presents, it adds another fun detail to the winter scene.

The red and green gifts look especially cute next to the snowman and penguins.

Make This Winter Wood Craft Your Own

That’s one of the best parts about our DIY kits. You can paint them however you want!

I chose a traditional winter color palette with white, red, green, black, and rustic brown, but you could absolutely change things up.

Try softer blues and silvers for an icy winter look, use neutral colors for farmhouse decor, or add some sparkle to the snow and trees.

There are so many possibilities, and that’s what makes DIY crafting so much fun!

Decorate With Your Finished Winter Scene

Once your project is finished, there are plenty of cute places to display it.

I think this would look adorable on a mantel surrounded by greenery, on a shelf with other winter decorations, or as part of a little tabletop winter display.

It’s also a great project to work on with friends during a winter craft night.

And if you’re someone who likes to keep seasonal decorations out after Christmas, this is a perfect piece to transition into January and February.
