Decorative Grandma and Grandpa Claus

I am so very excited to share these adorable Decorative Grandma and Grandpa Claus with you because of two specific reasons.

Number one, I cut the Decorative Grandma and Grandpa Claus craft kits on my very own laser machine! Number two, all you need to make these churches are glue and paint!

How to make my Decorative Grandma and Grandpa Claus

I started this fun Christmas craft by sanding each piece of the grandma and grandpa Claus craft kits.

Sanding allows me to remove the residue from when we are laser cutting these at the warehouse and ensures a smooth finish when we paint.

After I sand and wipe the pieces of my Grandma and Grandpa Claus, I stain each piece with brown paint. Mix a bit of paint with water and use a wet wipe to apply the mixture to each piece.

Allow each piece to dry completely before you begin painting. Once they’re dry, and you have your paints picked out, it’s time to start painting!

You can do what I did and go with classic red, white, and black, or you can switch it up and make a unique Grandma and Grandpa Claus!

Let the paint dry and distress the pieces if you want an aged, farmhouse look. The choice is yours!

How to decoupage

If you choose to decoupage scrapbook paper, or any paper really, you’ll need Mod Podge. Be sure your paint is dry before you do this step.

Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the piece or section you want to decoupage and place the paper onto the wet Mod Podge.

Cover the paper with a piece of plastic saran wrap and smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the paper.

Be sure Mod Podge and paint have dried completely before you start assembling your Grandma and Grandpa Claus.

The final step

Once everything is dry, I like to use a super glue to secure the pieces of my craft kits together because it ensures a good, strong bond and helps the decor last longer.

I hope you enjoyed my Decorative Grandma and Grandpa Claus as much as I did and decide to make them for yourself! I would love to see how yours turns out!
