DIY Valentine's Day Envelope Planter

I had so much fun making this super adorable DIY Valentine’s Day Envelope Planter! I took a simple Valentine’s Day hanging envelope (probably intended for Valentine’s Day cards) and turned it into affordable home decor!

Can’t you just see this hanging on a kitchen pantry or cabinet or on a bathroom door! Or how cute would this be in a classroom or office! It would honestly be perfect anywhere you put it!

How to Make a DIY Valentine’s Day Envelope Planter

Start this adorable Valentine’s Day DIY project by prying off the front piece from the Dollar Tree envelope sign. I used my heat gun to soften the adhesive and then used my putty knife to pry off the front piece.

Once the pieces are separated, trace the back piece of the envelope sign on the scrapbook paper and cut the paper to size.

Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the back envelope piece and place scrapbook paper on the surface. Use a rolling pin to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the paper.

Next, I had to glue the Dollar Tree Tumbling Tower blocks together to raise up the front piece of the envelope when I reattached it.

I used three of the Tumbling Tower blocks on the left and right sides of the envelope and five blocks across the bottom of the envelope. Glue the blocks together to create those three strips.

Once the glue was dry and the blocks were secured together, I painted each of the strips with Craftsmart Flag Red Acrylic Paint.

I used my heat gun to quickly dry the paint on the blocks, then I glued them to the back of the front piece of the Dollar Tree envelope sign.

Bring it all together

Cut a piece of floral foam to fit inside the envelope and glue the front and back pieces together. Then, hot glue the LOVE sign to the very front of the envelope.

Fill the inside of the envelope with the Dollar Tree Spanish moss and push in the greenery sprays of your choice.

Then, I pushed in the four bamboo skewers and trimmed them to different heights. I painted four of the wooden hearts (white and pink) and glued them at the top of the four bamboo skewers.

To create the hanger, I glued the ends of the wired jute cord to the back of the Valentine’s Day envelope planter. I glued some craft sticks to the back of the envelope as well.

Lastly, I tied a little bow out of my flannel ribbon and secured it with a piece of jute twine. I glued the bow at the peak of the envelope.
