How to make Bumblebee Macrame Farmhouse Decor

I started this project by staining the frame of the shiplap frame with brown paint. Mix a bit of brown paint with water and apply it to the frame with a paintbrush.

Then, use a clean wet wipe to remove the excess paint from the frame. I used my heat gun to quickly dry the frame, then lightly distressed the frame with a piece of sandpaper.

Next, I lightly brush Waverly celery chalk paint onto the shiplap portion of the frame. You don’t want full coverage so you have a bit of the light brown showing through.

I used my heat gun again to quickly dry the paint, then distressed the light green paint with a piece of sandpaper.

Next, I worked on the bees from my macrame bee craft kit. Lightly sand the front of the bees so they are an even color. Then, stain the bees dark brown.

Allow each of the bees to dry completely, then lightly sand each of them with sandpaper. I used a paint pen to add the detailing on each of the bees.

Once the paint is completely dry, you’re ready to add the yarn strands. I wrapped the yarn around my paint pen box several times, then cut the yarn so each strand was the same length.

Secure the yarn strands onto the bees. Then, thread the beads onto the yarn strands and use little dabs of hot glue to secure the beads in place.

Lastly, cut the popsicle sticks into smaller pieces and glue them to the backs of the bumblebees and glue the bees onto the frame!
