How to Make a Pizza Pan DIY Winter Door Hanger

First, lightly sand the surface of the Dollar Tree pizza pan with a sanding sponge. This helps the paint cling to the surface. Clean off the surface and paint it with black paint.

Allow the black paint to dry completely. You can set it to the side to dry, or use a heat gun like I did to speed up the drying process. I did a double coat of black paint on the pizza pan.

Next, I painted the large Hobby Lobby snowflake with white paint. I also painted 6 of the woodpile small stars with white paint. Then, I painted the small snowflake with Craftsmart red paint.

Allow all of the paint to dry completely. Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the large snowflake and carefully place the tissue paper onto the snowflake’s surface.

I went over the surface with a rolling pin to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the tissue paper. Then, I used my heat gun to quickly dry the Mod Podge.

Once the Mod Podge was dried, I used a nail filer to tear off the excess tissue paper from the snowflake. Next, I painted white stripes around the outer edge of the pizza pan.

Bring it all together

Make sure the paint on all your pieces is completely dry, then you can start bringing all the pieces together!

Hot glue the large snowflake to the center of the pizza pan. Next, glue the ends of the nautical rope to the back of the pizza pan. I glued a piece of ribbon over each end to secure the hanger more.

Glue the small red snowflake to the center of the large snowflake, and glue the small stars onto the pizza pan around the large snowflake.

Next up is the bow! I folded the red ribbon into the shape of a bow and secured it with a piece of jute twine. Then, I glued a small piece of buffalo check ribbon over the jute twine on the bow.

Lastly, glue your bow at the top of the pizza pan, and glue the pine greenery on either side of the bow. I didn’t, but you could even add some Totally Dazzled bling to the center of the bow!
